In the West, the meaning of the door is opportunities.

In every single culture in our Western world, you're going to see some saying that has to do with doors and opportunities.

For example, in English, we say when one door closes, another one opens, or when one door closes, a window opens. In Spanish, we say when one door closes, a hundred other doors open.

So, there's this association with doors as opportunities, doors as thresholds, going from one situation to another, one state of being to a new, different, and hopefully improved state of being.
