Scholarships are one of the best financial aid options available for students that are dedicated to furthering their education. Choosing to apply for scholarships is a great choice for several reasons. Some of the reasons include:- They DO NOT have to be paid back
- There are MILLIONS of scholarships available
- They can minimize or completely eliminate the need to take out student loans
- The chances that you will find scholarships that match your academic and recreational interest are greatly increased
- There are many resources available to assist with finding scholarships (i.e. books, the internet, your TRiO Upward Bound/Talent Search Coordinator, school counselors, teachers, university financial aid offices, etc.)

Scholarships for Minorities |
|
Scholarships for minority students are intended to assist students of diverse backgrounds fund their education. Scholarships for minority students often target, but are not limited to the following groups:
- African American students
- Hispanic/Latino American students
- Asian American students
- Native American students
- Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students
- LGBTQ students
- Women
