My grandma closed her eyes for the last time on July 28, she was 103 years young. She was a woman of integrity, love, class, determination, honor...and so much more. A true role model.
In her 103 years on this earth she was responsible for leading many to church, spreading love to others in a way that was infectious and helping so many change their lives for the better.
Someone shared the
story of how she was in the process of being mugged and drug down the
stairwell of a NYC subway. She gently spoke to the young man about how
he needed to come to church with her.
He returned her purse, showed up
for church the next week and turned his life around. Amazing right? She was able to see the good in him and cared enough about him to help change his life.
The other day I was going through some of her things and shuffled through three huge boxes of plaques and awards. Many of which she never mentioned to anyone.
You see, she didn't touch others' for recognition. She did it to see them flourish.
She made a mark on this world that can never be erased, can you say the same?
