Subject: Twerking Can Heal You?

Even if "twerking" isn't your thing...

...there's no mistaking the fact that moving your body helps to heal your mind, emotions, and spirit! There is something about allowing yourself to be one with the music, that opens the door for you to experience liberation in your entire being.

The mind-body connection that takes place during dancing has been studied by psychologist and it's confirmed that it releases endorphins, providing you with a "high".  For that very reason, dance has been shown to help with stress relief, minimize depression symptoms, and even increase your self-esteem.  It's like a miracle potion that you can access anytime.  Even if you have limited mobility and may be unable to stand or dance for long periods of time, just moving any of your body to the music can be uplifting to your spirit.

This year at Take Up Space in ATL music and movement are a big part of the experience! We have an amazing Black, female DJ "DJ Queen" who will be playing tunes throughout the day.  After lunch we will have a Sister Circle Dance Session facillitated by Rashida (Rashi) KhanBey Miller.  Rashi will be acting as our guide to help us connect with our bodies and tap into healing and liberation through freestyle dance.

It's going to be amazing and we can't wait to have you join us.  We are only 8 days away! If you haven't already done so, be sure to grab your tickets NOW.  There are two ticket options left:

General Admission= $37  admission, meals, sessions, and swag bags for one
