Subject: It's A Celebration of YOU!

Go where you are celebrated.

Have you ever been the center of attention at a birthday party or special function? It feels amazing to be surrounded by people who love you, embrace you, and want to celebrate who you are.

That's exactly what it feels like at the Take Up Space experience! We've created an environment where you can be seen, be heard and be embraced just as you are.  You are celebrated for your uniqueness and encouraged to let your light shine.  That means you can show up as you.  Whether you full of energy and vitality, quiet and reserved, or somewhere in between, it's okay to just be you.

We've planned a whole day to help you focus on your needs, your desires, and your life goals.
You will get to talk to women who are willing to be authentic about their experiences and challenges.  You can share your thoughts and ideas about womanhood, culture, and the fullness of your body.  Bring your energy into the room and share it with other women too.

This isn't your average "event".  It's an experience.  We've mixed socializing, empowerment, inspiration, girl talk, and a huge dash of partying all together to create an experience that will change your life.

It's a full day of love and affirmation:
  • Meet and Greet - A morning mixer
  • Learn and Reflect - A panel discussion
  • Chat and Chew - A full lunch with activities
  • Move and Groove- A Dj and African dance circle

We are less than a month away from this experience.  Grab your tickets now, sis! We want to see you there.  You can even bring a friend and save with our group discount.

You Gotta Take Care Of You, Sis!

Our "Sista Chat" is focused on self-care and self-preservation:

 - "Okay Is Enough"- releasing the need to be perfect
- "It's Okay to NOT Be Okay"- mental emotional wellness
- "Sis, Are YOU Okay?" - finding support among other women

Alicia, Rashida, and Leuryck are each Black and Brown women of size with unique life experiences and perspectives that are guaranteed to spark a juicy dialogue and liberating conversation in the room!
Art Can Heal

Spoken word art is a culturally creative way to use words as a form of expression for feelings.  Whiskey Girl uses her art to talk about womanhood, culture, and mental health for women of color.  Her passion on the mic brings inspiration and healing for many.
Music Sets You Free

If you feel stress, worry, anxiety or negative emotions music and movement can help uplift your spirits.  DJ Queen is a plus-size, female music mistress who knows how to get the party started.  She is excited to help us celebrate our womanhood and curves by spinning some tunes on the ones and twos to get us up and moving.
