We see God’s glory displayed in so many amazing ways! We see His glory declared in the heavens. Psalm 19:1 says: “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” On the opening day of the conference—Monday, April 8—a stunning celestial display of God’s glory will take place as a total solar eclipse occurs! A solar eclipse happens when the moon fully blocks the sun, causing darkness during the daytime. Since Big Sandy is in the path of totality, we have arranged a special pre-conference add-on for anyone wanting to view the eclipse with us. Join us for this historic event that will be a wonderful prelude to the Family Conference starting Monday evening.
But observing God’s creation is just the beginning of the amazing display of His glory. The greatest revelation of the glory of God is in the face of His Son the Lord Jesus Christ! We see this in our theme verse: “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (II Corinthians 4:6, emphasis added).
How often do we stop and take time to behold God’s glory? In the normal challenges and busyness of daily life, it is easy to lose our focus on the eternal. Our desire for this conference is to lift our focus off ourselves and our circumstances and place it resolutely on the glory and majesty of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our hope is that you and your family will gain a fresh vision of God’s glory and a renewed desire to be channels of His love in your homes, churches, and communities! |
