Hello from Stoke on Trent, England
It's been a while; I hope you and your family are well and enjoying the first signs of spring; having said that, it's forecasted snow around the 7th and 8th of March for some parts of the UK. How's the weather were you are in the US?
Yesterday, I finished the first book in my brand new crime series, featuring the tenacious Detective Inspector Jessica Ryan, based in Leek, Staffordshire Moorlands largest town. By the way, thanks to everyone who helped me choose her name.
All three books in this gripping murder mystery series are set amidst the hauntingly beautiful Peak District in the heart of England.
A place of myth, folklore and legends that includes the story of Robin Hood, King Arthur and The Green Knight, to name just a few. It's also Jayne Eyre territory, and as I walked the moors during summer images of Mr Rochester and Jayne Eyre entered my mind's eye.
Rest assured, as a member of my VIP readers club, you will be the first to know when the books in the series is launched; hopefully at 12-week intervals.
I'm lucky to have this gorgeous countryside just a few miles outside of where I live in Stoke. Here are a few pictures from my research trips to The Peak District National Park, which offers a spectacular variety of scenery and routes to be explored – from steep sided limestone dales to the dramatic high moorlands.
There is something for everyone – whether you want a challenging hike or a short stroll. I'm sure you'll agree the area is simply stunning.
