Hi Friend,
When a disaster strikes, waiting until the last minute to buy a generator can leave you with the wrong equipment and in a desperate situation...
To help you avoid this, I’ve created a free guide that answers 10 essential questions to ensure you choose the right generator for your needs—before it's too late:
#1: What Size Generator Do You Need? Identify the appliances you must power. Focus on essentials like heating rather than non-essentials.
Then calculate the total wattage required by the generator by adding together the wattage of each appliance that the generator will power.
To do this, simply check the appliance labels for wattage. However, some labels will have amps. If so, multiply the amps by the voltage you use at your home (110-120V).
A quick example of this is: if you have a 120-volt service and an appliance that uses 10 amp, multiply 120 Volts by 10A - which will give you 1200 watts.
Pro Tip: Remember, appliances with motors require three times the wattage to start. |
