Yesterday, I sent out an email with a list of potential obstacles and opportunities that a studio owner could have with their group lessons.
A short reminder… do any of these apply to you?
You would like to expand your group size without having to hire an assistant You can’t expand your group size (because of space) but you would like to further improve your student’s playing You still feel overwhelmed teaching group lessons… or you are still struggling to get results with students You are frustrated by lack of home practice You are frustrated by lack of parental support at home You would like to raise the standard of musicianship in your studio You’d like to decrease the amount of time it takes students to learn their songs (no matter what level they are at) You would like to move beyond enforcing accuracy in note and rhythm reading and spend more time teaching concepts of phrasing, expression, musicianship You’d like more time in your lessons for games, theory, and technique You want to further differentiate your studio as the “go-to” studio in your area
If so, there is a new tool that I’m using that gives piano teachers FURTHER leverage in their group lessons.
It’s an app called the Piano Express that acts as the world’s most reliable “teacher assistant” for a piano group lesson.
Recently, we met with a number of Successful Group Lessons alumni to show them the app.
It was simply to demonstrate it and answer questions.
We were in information gathering mode…. No sales pitch.
Despite the fact that it was not a sales presentation…
80% of the studios we met with signed up to be in our beta.
Why?
They saw the power of the system.
They saw that:
The software allows teachers to compress assessment time down dramatically. It gives the teacher more freedom to use the hour for other things like ear training, technique exercises, song writing, and skill development. It takes a TON of pressure off of the teacher… and (for larger schools) makes it much easier to train others to run this model. It allows students to make progress at home that no other piano education model can provide It allows the teacher to track student progress and practice time away from the studio It has dramatically increased the AMOUNT of time that students are practicing at home (on their “core” skill development… not “music games” that are an add-on to the lesson experience)
We are still enrolling studios right now.
Two Opportunities
If this sounds intriguing to you, there are two opportunities available to you right now:
(1) We recorded one of those demos and have made it available here:
