The Pepsi Challenge was a marketing stunt by Pepsi in the 1970s and 1980s.


Picture this: a table pops up in a bustling shopping mall, manned by eager brand reps.


Curious passersby are lured in with the promise of free soda. They’re handed two cups—one filled with Pepsi, the other with Coke—without knowing which is which.


After sipping both, they’re asked to declare a favorite.


The twist?


More often than not, they picked Pepsi!


This taste test showdown became legendary, shaking up the cola wars and sparking spirited debates.


Pepsi was a major underdog before “The Challenge”… but they claimed sweet victory, asserting that their bubbly brew was the people's choice!
