Dear Friend,

Summer is waning, and I feel as if it's just begun! We are home from conference travels for awhile, and I'm settling into my study and writing routine until the next travel begins. I hope your summer has gone well, and that you're looking forward to an interesting school year. The most exciting thing I'm looking forward to is a new grandbaby in December;-).

As you gear up for autumn and the new lessons it will bring, I wanted to share two useful items with you. The first is Charlotte Mason's Educational Manifesto, and the second is on how to protect yourself online by choosing safe, strong passwords. I hope you find both articles helpful. I'll be posting a summer poem for copywork soon, and that may be a gentle way to ease back into the school year.

Enjoy the last few weeks of summer with your sweet family. Remember, education is always more than academics!

Blessings,

Janice Campbell

P.S. I'm working on new speaking topics and a conference schedule for next year, so if you'd like to have me speak at a conference near you, please let your conference organizers know, and share my e-mail and web address so they can reach me. I'd love to meet you at a conference in 2013!

From the Education Blog: How to Teach Your Child: Charlotte Mason’s Education Manifesto

I believe that Charlotte Mason’s simple manifesto (public declaration of policy and aims) targets exactly the kind of education that many homeschoolers seek to provide. I know  it inspired me as I taught our boys. I've shared the manifesto here-- it's short, sweet, and to the point, and I think it can help you focus on what really matters as you begin the new year.
From the Entrepreneur Blog: How to Choose Strong, Safe Passwords for Online Accounts

When you begin conducting business online, it’s critical to use secure passwords for the online services you use. As your online presence grows, you’ll find yourself with many different types of passwords and with the accompanying challenge of remembering them. Here is a system that will help you choose and remember strong, safe passwords.
