Subject: Friend, join me today at Schoolhouse Expo, and learn how to get a jump start on college!

Everyday Education / Excellence in Literature
Dear Friend,

I just wanted to remind you that the Schoolhouse Expo starts today, May 16. I'll be speaking at 1:00 p.m. EDT on "Get a Jump on College!" I know that many homeschool families look toward college with a certain amount of anxiety, but honestly-- it's not as scary as it seems.

The Old Schoolhouse Expo 2011Getting a jump start on college-- that is, earning college credits during the high school years-- can give your student a "college with training wheels" experience that can be a huge blessing. Not only that, a jump start can shave years off the college experience while saving thousands of dollars in tuition. (Really-- I'm not kidding!)

I hope you'll join me and the other speakers this week as we seek to shine lights along your homeschool path. There's so much encouragement in hearing from other families who have done what you're doing and can share what worked (and sometimes, what didn't!). Most of the speakers have provided many freebies and special offers for attendees, so a ticket to the Expo is a great investment in your teacher training budget.

On another note, the 2011 Homeschool Business & Entrepreneur Directory is finally ready, and The Old Schoolhouse is offering it at no cost. Just click the link below to get your copy.

It's full of great articles and helpful information by many in the homeschool community. If you've been thinking of combining home school with home business, you may enjoy the story of how Everyday Education began and grew (on page 70), even when we didn't really know what we were doing.

Learning on the job sometimes felt like running in front of a fast-moving train, but the Lord opened doors and helped us connect with the people and information needed to make it all work. Now I enjoy teaching and sharing the how-to of online business with others who need to add income or want to learn entrepreneurship from home. Enjoy!

I hope to "see" you online at the Expo at 1 p.m. today. And whatever happens, I wish you a bright and beautiful spring week!

Blessings,

Janice Campbell
