Subject: Friend, Great Books Week and a workshop

Everyday Education: Making time for things that matter.

4 October 2010

Dear Friend,

Great Books Week poster- sponsored by Excellence in Literature and the National Association of Independent Writers and EditorsI just wanted to let you know that it's Great Books Week, and Excellence in Literature is one of the sponsors of the event. There is a free downloadable poster, as well as a blog challenge question for each day, Monday-Friday, October 4-8. You can write on each daily topic and link back to the original topic post. If you blog on all five challenge topics and link back to each original topic post, you have a chance to earn an Amazon gift certificate, with which you may, of course, buy great books.

The blog challenge is a good opportunity to have each member of your family write about each question. Responses don't have to be long or formal-- just make them interesting!

Also, I wanted to let you know that I'll be doing a Beat the Clock Essay Workshop and a High School Transcript workshop on October 15 for the Tri-Cities Home Educators. If you're within driving distance of central Virginia, this should be an interesting day. You can find the details and sign-up information at www.tcheofva.org

Enjoy Great Books Week and the rest of fall!

Blessings,

Janice Campbell

P.S. Another good way to celebrate Great Books Week is to read a great book. You can visit the Excellence in Literature pages on the website to find my picks for the greatest books of all time. I hope you'll enjoy one or two of them!
