| Dear Friend, Last week In the mid-Atlantic region, we were battening down the hatches in preparation for Hurricane Sandy. Preparations included drawing water, gathering candles and oil lamps, and trying to get everything washable washed in case the power went out.
It didn't go out for our family, but I know that many have lost so much, and you've been in our thoughts and prayers. The storm brought to mind the times we coped with power outages over the past few years, and I thought I'd share a few of the ways we used those challenging times to make sweet memories. You can read the full article at Janice-Campbell.com.
Meanwhile, I hope your school year is going well. If you haven't yet seen the new Excellence in Literature website, I think you'll enjoy it. If you're using the curriculum, you'll find that we've hosted many of the context resources on the site, organized by level so you can easily find them. Even if you're not using EIL, you'll find good resources for literature and history study, including source documents, poetry, and more. I hope the new site makes using EIL even simpler!
Our next issue will be the traditional Thanksgiving issue with my favorite Thanksgiving poem and the famous Cranberry-Orange relish recipe. Enjoy!
Blessings,
Janice Campbell
