The Everyday Educator
Cultivating creativity, wisdom, and virtue in an ordinary life through
education, entrepreneurship, and soul care.
July 2015

Dear Friend,

After nearly seven weeks and 9000 miles of driving, I arrived home last week feeling as if summer was nearly over. It's still hot, so I guess it's not.
I hope you're still enjoying the outdoors!

It's too hot here to be out much, so I'm working adding resources and navigation links to the website so you can find the books you want. I'm also working on the Model-Based Writing book, as well as another project that I think will surprise and delight you.

Have you read anything wonderful this summer?
During the trip, I listened to all of Dante's Divine Comedy and started on the Iliad but got home before I finished. I also listened to about 20 hours of Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens.
I was reminded once again that epic poetry comes to life when beautifully performed. I hope your students will enjoy these great authors when they encounter them in Excellence in Literature!

A question for you:
Do you prefer a long newsletter (like the ones we usually send)
once a month,
or a shorter newsletter (like this) twice a month (or once)?
Just hit "reply" to send a response to my email.

I wish you joy, blessings, and peace as you look forward to the new school year (or finish the old, if you in the southern hemisphere). May we all continue to grow in wisdom and virtue.

Janice Campbell

P.S. I'll be at the Johnston County Home Educator's Conference in North Carolina on August 22, and on Friday afternoon, the 21st, I'll be doing a Beat-the-Clock Essay Workshop. I'd love to see you there!

Also, if you receive this email in Gmail and would like to make sure you don't miss it, just drag it to the Primary tab and add my email to your contact list. That will help!
