Parks in the Spotlight: Powered by People; Inspired by Nature
Registration is now open

| Dear member,
We've asked you to save the date, now registration is open: Join us for the EUROPARC Conference 2021! #EUROPARC2021
In many global and European policy frameworks, Parks and Protected Areas have been identified as having a significant role. From climate change to biodiversity loss, sustainable agriculture & tourism; Parks are in the Spotlight.
So, it's up to us to make the most of this attention and
highlight how things are achieved “on the ground”. We now need to indicate what
more is needed to enable Parks and Protected Areas to fulfil their
potential and meet the challenges presented.
That is why, over the course of two half days on the 6th and 7th of October, our conference will look at the
practical management that turns the big political and societal topics into reality.
Inspired by Nature, it is the People
of Parks, the staff, their communities, partners and stakeholders that
make the necessary changes happen. This conference gives all a chance to
debate, discuss and deliver new ideas, thinking and approaches about how
we can address the political, societal and environmental challenges of
today, to plan and prepare for a better future. Join us! |
| | | We
want to make sure our members get the best networking experience
possible. This is why EUROPARC members enjoy a discount of 50 euros. Additionally, when registering three
people from a member organisation, the third person can join for free! Please have your membership number ready when registering to make use of these special offers*. Of course, preparing for a better future means nothing if we don't involve youth, so people under 26 can register for the discount price of 50 euros.
|
| * You will receive an email with the Member ID of your
organisation. If not, don’t panic. We are here to assist you. Write us a message through the Help Desk or to the address conference.europarc@europarc.org and we will send it to you. Please make sure you state the name of the organisation you belong to and the position you occupy. |
| | | Spotlight on... Our keynote speakers
As
can be expected from a EUROPARC Conference, we will have stimulating
Keynote Speakers to set the tone. They will consider,
from differing perspectives, how the Parks and Protected Areas
community need to respond to this spotlight they are under. The following keynote speakers will give us an inspiring start to the conference on the 6th of October. - Ladislav Miko, environmental
expert and politician. Ladislav currently works as Deputy Director General at
the Directorate-General for Health and Consumer Protection, learn more about him here.
- Dr. George Holmes (pictured above),
Associate Professor of Conservation and Society at the School of Earth
and Environment, University of Leeds, United Kingdom. George conducts
research on conservation & conservationists, and the interaction
between Protected Areas and local communities, learn more about him here.

| | | Spotlight on... Your project!
We are bringing back the "Speakers' Corner" format of last year's Conference! In the programme, a one-hour session is open to participants to come and shine a light on their work. The goal is to increase awareness about our members' work and facilitate networking amongst our community. This year, we've made some changes: presenters will get 5 minutes/3 slides on the main stage!
Do you want to put the spotlight on your work? Then register now to the EUROPARC Conference! This is a special offer for our Conference Delegates and the online form for the Speakers' Corner will be shared once you have registered. You can find more information here.
|
| | Spotlight on... Networking
It wouldn't be a EUROPARC Conference without networking! That is why it will be possible to see who else will attend and send messages to other conference delegates in the "Delegate's Area" of the website. Additionally, we've created a special LinkedIn Group where those attending the conference can connect and share interesting information with other delegates.
|
| | | On the 5th of October, one day before the conference, EUROPARC will hold its General Assembly. |
| | This year is extra important, as
members can elect a new EUROPARC Council and President. We invite you to get to know
all candidates on the EUROPARC website.
As in other years, it will be possible
to allow another EUROPARC member to vote on your behalf through a proxy vote.
However, benefiting from the General Assembly being online and the ease of
e-voting, we strongly encourage all our members to send a representative
on the 5th of October.
Members will be able to vote for 6
candidates for council. The vote is entirely that of the individual member
for the candidates who they believe will be able to take forward their
aspirations and oversee the work of the Federation.
Registration will be opened soon. |

Join us, meet
like-minded people and let’s work on a green future for Europe at
the online EUROPARC Conference 2021 on the 6th and 7th of October.
