The survey is available in 4 languages (English, French, German and Spanish), and should take around 15 minutes to complete.
Thank you to all who have already contributed!
So far we have received some valuable inputs from Parks and Protected Areas of 23 countries! However, we still need as many answers as possible to properly analyse the situation.
What is the purpose?
There is no doubt that outdoor sports offer many benefits to people of all ages. They allow for positive contact with nature, being with friends and remain mentally and physically healthy. Outdoor sport practitioners can often be supporters of Protected Areas and therefore, we welcome such activities. But how can we manage them better to ensure outdoor sports are more sustainable and that the impacts of such activities are minimised and mitigated?
To answer these questions, EUROPARC has joined the ERASMUS+ SEE project (stands for Sustainability and Environmental Education in Outdoor Sports) and created the survey. From the survey, we are hoping to learn about the various impacts, challenges and opportunities that outdoor sports represent for Protected Areas. Additionally, the collected data should also identify innovative practices to effectively manage them and contribute to the preparation of a toolkit for outdoor sports trainers and educators.
Who is the survey for?
We invite members across the EUROPARC network to take part and share their inputs via this survey!
The survey is addressed to Parks and Protected Area managers or other professionals working in a publicly accessible natural area where outdoor sports take place. That includes all sorts of Protected Areas including Periurban Parks, Marine Protected Areas, Biosphere reserves, National or Regional Parks etc. In case your institution is managing more than one Protected Area, we kindly ask you to submit several surveys – one per each Protected Area.
