Subject: Ron Milliman, K8HSY
Dear Friend,
You just received a message announcing my latest podcast with Ron Milliman,
K8HSY. It is a very interesting QSO and I hope that you enjoy it. The
reason for this second message is that I forgot to erase the message from
last week before I sent it.
Here is the podcast show notes page: www.qsotoday.com/podcasts/k8hsy
So here is a message from this week:
Avinoam, 4X1HF, and I returned the "R1" repeater that serves the Jerusalem
area to its shelter on the radio site that serves the Jerusalem area but
also covers a lot of the coastal plain from Tel Aviv South to the Egyptian
border. Avinoam did a beautiful job cleaning up the Motorola MSR2000
repeater that has already spent over 25 years on the site. It was the home
to many a critter, whose eggs and remains littered the inside of the
repeater chassis. At least there was no dead cat that expired on the power
supply in a previous year before I was involved. Avinoam made a new cover
for the rack out of plastic with a fan that will hopefully keep future
residents out of the repeater and to keep the system dry. Maybe, if we are
lucky, we will get another 20 years out of it.
I recorded two additional QSO Today podcasts for future publication as well
as procuring parts and equipment for my repeater and Allstar node projects.
Like everything else, time is limited and so I have to put these projects
on my daily calendar to get them done. This is one of the lessons that I
learn from the hams that I interview on the podcast, is that most of them
are very deliberate about the time dedicated to ham radio and projects.
I hope that you too have a very successful week and enjoy my podcast.

Eric Guth, 4Z1UG
