It is late Saturday night, and I have so much to say. So i will go topic by topic to share with you.
Covid-19: I am getting on the phone beginning to sell exhibit space for the QSO Today Virtual Ham Expo. I get the impression that every State in the Union has a different approach. Oregon and California are still locked up tight, Alabama, on the other hand, is open, or maybe never closed? So it seems that the pandemic is ebbing and flowing in the USA. I heard this week that HamCon Colorado closed their early August convention and are refunding tickets. I see that some ham clubs are still doing park events, but social distancing.
Here in Israel, everything is beginning to open up. Schools are in full session beginning Sunday, swimming pools open on Wednesday. Karen and I are still waiting longer to see if it number of cases spike as a result of the kids in school potentially affecting their older teachers. Maybe we will have a Summer break. I hope so.
QSO Today Virtual Ham Expo - free registration has been continuous all week. Thanks! I keep updating the website with new information and blog posts. Please check it out.
We started selling exhibitor space, or booths, to fund this whole operation. If you would consider being an exhibitor and would like a tour of the virtual convention center platform, then please contact me. I know people are skeptical about what this virtual convention will look like, but everyone who has looked at my demo wants a booth. This is the first time our ham radio community will see a convention like this. Its pretty amazing.
Emanuela Patrelli joined our team from Milan, Italy. Emanuela is fluent in English as well as a bunch of other languages. She will help us to get exhibitors and on-board them on our platform before opening day. She will be a great asset to our team.
If you have not yet registered for your FREE ticket to the QSO Today Virtual Ham Expo,
please click on this link. If you already have your registration, then please copy this message and send it to your friends. Ten thousand hams registered on opening day would be a game changer for everyone. Please help!
I have lots of speaker slots for hams outside of the USA. If you are outside of the USA, then please submit your
application on this link.
Episode 303 - Bob Fontana, AK3Y, has the "knack", like many of us hams. When a friend gave him a shortwave down converter to repair that connected to his AM radio, the world of shortwave listening opened up to Bob. This combined interest in radio and electronics hooked him. The rest is the history that he shares with us in this QSO Today.
Thanks for listening. Stay safe and be careful out there.
