Dear Friend,
It is the beginning of the year, the
holiday season is over, and I was looking at the download numbers for the QSO
Today podcast. What I noticed is that now that I am approaching 300
published episodes that the first 100 are not being downloaded as much anymore.
I had assumed that new listeners to the QSO Today podcast would go back and listen
to all of the old episodes. I am a big podcast listener, but the truth be
told, I also don't often go to the beginnings of my favorite podcasts,
especially if I start listening after a few hundred episodes.
It is with this new understanding
that I thought to reprise some of the older episodes, remixed and audio
compressed, with some new content to bring to you especially if you did not
hear it originally. This episode with
Ward Silver, N0AX, was recorded in February 2015. Ward is one of the most prolific writers for
QST and had a monthly column for over 15 years.
I loved reading his “hands on ham radio” and learned a lot from him over
the years. So what you will hear this
week is the original interview with a new introduction. I was lucky enough to catch up with Ward this
week, for a brief conversation and that audio is at the very end of the show after
the credits. So be sure to play it to
the end.
Thanks for listening.
Happy New Year
