Dear Friend,
Maybe its the lock down, or my 100 meter perimeter where I am allowed to walk with the dogs, or not seeing the grandchildren, or binging on Homeland that is causing me think out of the box.
With the cancellation of the Dayton Hamvention and every other ham convention and hamfest in the near future, its time to make a show - a virtual ham radio show, to replace what we have lost while we are in isolation from the Corona Covid-19 virus.
I am in the process of contacting all of my former guests, to ask them if they will make a ham radio presentation for my QSO Today Ham Radio Expo virtual convention. Their response is nothing short of amazing.
The software to make this a fully interactive experience is out there, but expensive, usually for corporate events, but adaptable for a great ham radio virtual hamfest. I am building my team now to create a great show.
I need your help by first filling out my survey to better understand who will attend and under what conditions. Since you are a loyal listener and have agreed to hear from me every week, I am asking you first.
I will update you when I have a date that works for everyone.
Bry Carling, AF4K, is my guest this week. Bry is the co-founder of the Novice Rig Roundup, an on-air CW annual event. Bry likes old rigs and has a huge inventory of crystals for hams who restore old rigs, or want to build a new rig, the old fashioned way.
Finally, the human community is under tremendous strain from this virus. I pray for a speedy and complete recovery for anyone who is ill and that the rest of us are out of harm's way as soon as possible.
In the mean time, we have a chance to reset the latches, make new priorities, and enjoy the simple pleasures of family and friends. I am grateful that you still listen, and that I am part of a community that steps up to the plate when it is our turn to bat.
