Dear Friend, I purchased a new Icom IC-7300 last year at the Pacificon convention in California. Since Icom is a wonderful sponsor, I thought that I should update my Icom radios in the ham shack. I love the 7300 but sometime need more help to find my way around the menus. Often I go to Google or YouTube to see how to access some of the features of the rig.
My guest this week, Andrew Barron, ZL3DW, has written three user guides for the Icom IC-7300, IC-7610, and the IC-9700, after purchasing the rigs himself. These books are available on Amazon (links on the show notes page), so I purchased them for my ham library.
Andrew likes writing ham radio books and also has written about Software Defined Radio and Amateur Satellites. We discuss Russian Ham Satellites as well as the Es'Hail geosynchronous satellite, not reachable from the USA, but quite reachable from my QTH. I feel another project coming into the cue.
I hope to be at the West Valley Amateur Radio Association meeting in San Jose, California, on November 13th. If you go to the meeting, look for me.
Thanks for listening.
