Dear Friend,
Thanks to all of you who wrote to me last week warning us to not to re-enter too fast. In Israel, all of the kids are going back to school this week. There is a lot of pressure on the government from the governed to open everything up while monitoring for spikes in new cases.
It is interesting to read how they will social distance in movie houses by limiting the number of people in a theater and keeping two empty seats in every direction around each person wearing a mask. Before Covid-19, you could sit in an empty theater during an afternoon matinee.
A friend and his wife stopped by the garden for a chat in masks this afteroon. While it appears that the airlines will start to open in a limited way, travel insurance (ie, health insurance) is not available. This is new and surprising knowledge and would prevent my travel abroad until it is available. Since this virus still has a list of unknown variables, travel health insurance could be unaffordable unless you have the "golden passport" that says that you have Covid-19 antibodies.

Jim Andrews, KH6HTV, is one of the pioneers of amateur television and now it has gone digital. I have an interest in repeaters and when I spotted his article in QST Magazine last year on DTV or digital amateur TV repeaters, I was intrigued. His Boulder, Colorado, based radio club uses amateur digital television to support public safety events using their expertise and their TV repeaters. Don't miss episode 302 featuring KH6HTV.
Stay safe and be careful out there.
