| Honestly fam.. When I sit back and use perspective. I don't have a clue what it's like to be an up and coming artist these days. Someone left a comment on my YT and said "You're not in the REAL WORLD. You don't know what it's like".
I almost got offended... (When I say almost I mean I was completely offended lol).. I had to really sit back and ask.. "Am I really a part of the REAL WORLD?".. In all reality I'm 16 years removed from it. The last time I had a job was in.... 2006.
Music has paid me since then.. But here's the thing MY G... I'm not built to follow & I'm not built to build someone else's legacy. When my son was born I told myself that he would never see me work for anyone else & I did whatever I needed to do to make that happen.
I learned marketing, I learned coding, I learned mixing and mastering, I learned networking, I learned web design and photoshop, I learned how to operate dslr cameras and hi end video editing software. I learned how to build web apps for other companies and ran marketing campaigns for multi-million dollar companies so that I could take there foundation and add it to mine.
I manifested value... Day in... Day out. I hear most artists say "I just want to make music".. Well go find a fucking time machine because it's not the day for that. You have to be more than an artist... You have to create value within your ecosystem.
