Subject: What Is Your Value?

What's good DFRNT Fam. This is a question that a lot of people get misconstrued. "What is your Value?" This is a tuff question to answer ESPECIALLY as a creative in business. A lot of artists think that their value is solely predicated on their talent. Is your talent valuable to you? YES, is it valuable to consumers? NEGATIVE. Talent is about 10 percent, it's like the straw on the camels back when it comes to creativity x business. Creativity comes from a fickle illogical part of the mind. It's such a subjective thing & everyone looks at it differently. Everyone thinks someone else is the best at a particular thing. I have to say that work ethic TRUMPS (teehee) talent any day. There's a million people who have an abundance of talent & no work ethic in business. They're not willing to do what it takes to be heard/seen. If you're not heard/seen you're not of value in any market. It's like opening a Walmart in the middle of a forest..... The shit just doesn't work. So before you look at someone like Kendrick, Drake or Metro Boomin & say you can do better. REALLY think to yourself... Can you? Are you willing to put forth the effort to MAKE SHIT HAPPEN like they did? I recorded Kendrick Lamar in a studio off of Rosecrans & Crenshaw in L.A. back in 2004. Dude was about 16 & he was NOT GOOD. But his work ethic & business mind got him to where he is today. So what is your value?
