I recently made a post about music being a hobby and if you want to make bread from music that you must master marketing. Most people understood but there were a few people who felt like music will sell itself. I love music, its been my therapy and truly brings me joy. But....without marketing you wouldn't know who I am.
There are artists who just enjoy making music and could care less about a career. Most of those artists never release the music. They do this as a hobby and there's nothing wrong with that.
However if you want to make mula from your art, its important you learn the beauty of marketing and understand you are a business. The way you release music is just as creative as creating the music. There's art around the entire process. Instead of looking at the business as a negative component, find creative ways to bring awareness to your music.
The reason why Kanye West and Drake hold a tight grip on the culture is because they are marketing genius. You don't have to have a huge budget but you do have to understand your audience and find creative ways to engage with them. I appreciate you and I hope you have a great Monday. Bless
