We're working on an awesome search for the Season 5 international trailer of HBO’s legendary series, Game of Thrones.
Please review this brief in its entirety prior to submitting music, as there are some specific requirements we hope to fulfill.
We are seeking contemporary song (with vocals) from modern artists who are ideally about to “break,” but are still in that coveted, “yet-to-be-discovered” phase of their career. For comparison, past GOT trailers have featured music from Hozier, London Grammar and The National. These are artists with a unique presence and powerful tone.
The right track will resonate well with the GOT audience, but can hold its own outside of the show as well.
Currently, the music in these trailers has a very “epic” tone. In the past, artists have even collaborated with the creatives to re-compose an existing track so that it fits in with the “large” tone that is expected of the show. While this direction is still very much on the table, for Season 5 the creatives are also open to hearing any music that is unexpected and could effectively flip this tone on its head!
Please don’t take this as an opportunity to submit every priority track you have right now. Although we say “unexpected,” the song still needs to be really interesting in order to be considered. It should possess that indescribable quality that separates a unique song from the rest.
We are also open to hearing really unique covers too.
