Transitioning in music as you get older gets hard. I've probably lost 3 quarters of my customer/audience base due to age. This is the inevitable when your audience gets to the point where their dream & reality collide, and not in a positive way. I think sometimes we forget that music is an art form. Not just a business. We see all these aesthetics on social media that we want. Cars, houses etc & forget that our goal was to be great at music. Expectations of time is a vulnerability that no one can over come. YOUR TIME IS YOUR TIME. And someTIMES we cut that time short due to "REAL LIFE". One thing that I noticed is that we don't MAKE our dreams a reality. Becoming JAY-Z is like becoming LEBRON... But that didn't stop Lavar Ball from living out a dream. Opening his own business & living vicariously through his son. Also creating a living for his other sons that may never see that dream come to fruition. Being a creative and also being able to handle business is daunting. Finding a new avenue & pursuing that can also feel like failure at times. Life is a beast that way. This all depends on what success is to you. I just want to do what I love & take care of my family. How about you?
