Fear of disappointment is one of the many reason people don't pursue their passion. It has less to do with disappointing themselves and everything to do with other people.
Do your parents support you? Does your wife support your dreams? Are your friends behind you? Do you care what other people think?
Real friends and family only want whats best for you and sometimes they lack the ability to see your vision. Its hard to see someone else's vision through your own eyes. You should never let this stop you, its ok to put yourself first. Choosing to follow your dreams can sometimes come with guilt, its a selfish decision. But allowing that to stop you will come with regret and that will kill you.
Don't worry about being understood when your vision isn't a reality yet. As long as you can see it and you're working towards it will happen. They may not understand right now but they will once they can see it. So don't worry about what they think or how they may feel, focus on your vision.
This is the best time to be a independent artists, don't allow the fear of disappointing others to stop you. You know what you have to do, just stay focus and stay DFRNT my friends.
