The "Summer of Peace" is set to kick off this summer, aiming to create a safe, fun, and engaging environment for youth and their families while promoting peace and safety within the community. This community-driven event will span five weeks, starting July 5 and continuing every Friday through August 2, 2024.
The program will feature workshops, classes, and violence prevention training for youth aged 10 to 19; followed by a weekly Friday night Summer Concert Series featuring top local acts, food trucks, and vendors. This transformative initiative is organized in collaboration with the 100 Black Men of DeKalb County, the City of Stonecrest, and DeKalb CEO-Elect Lorraine Cochran-Johnson.
