following our information letters we want to update you regarding the current situation in Northern Europe concerning the COVID-19
Finnish borders are opened for work-based and essential travel from the EU Schengen Area starting 14 May.
The Norwegian borders are closed for all but Norwegian citizens and foreigners that possess a residence permit or a work permit. As a general rule, this will apply until August 20th. Before 20 July, the government will decide if travelers from other nearby countries can visit Norway at all this summer.
Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs advises against travel to all countries. The Government has decided to extend the temporary entry ban to the EU via Sweden until 15 June.
All unnecessary travel to Denmark is not advised until and including 31 May 2020. The Danish Government is in contact with Denmark's neighboring countries and will decide on the temporary border control and entry bans and travel advice by 1 June 2020.
Baltic states of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania agreed to open their borders to each other from May 15. Also it is decided to allow to organize tourism services for trips within the Baltic states - Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Speaking about the international tourism the situation is as follows
Only citizens of Estonia and holders of Estonian residency permit or right of residence, among them the so-called grey passport holders can enter Estonia, as well as those foreign citizens whose family member lives in Estonia.
State of emergency in Latvia is extended until June 9, but restrictions are eased.
Lithuania announced a nation-wide quarantine from March 16 to May 31. During this time period, foreign citizens, except those having a residence or work permit, won't be allowed entry. The time period may be reassessed during or after the announced quarantine.
Everyone entering those countries are recommended to self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival, spending time only at home or at their work place. We are waiting for updates from our colleagues and will inform you accordingly.
