| | INTERESTED IN JOINING A MEN'S MEDITATION GROUP?
|
| Some time ago men's groups were quite popular. These groups formed so that men could meet and talk about a variety of men's issues, sharing about their lives, reading and discussing some of the popular books that explored men's inner landscapes and emotions in a safe, male only environment, and building relationships with other men of like minds.
That is NOT what I have in mind in offering a men's group.
The important difference is that the group I'm interested in hosting at Contemplative Arts Meditation Studio would be, first and foremost, a group for men interested in learning and practicing the meditation practices of "The 3 Doors", the forms of meditation that Marcy and I offer at our studio.
What I envision is a weekly group that meets on a weekday evening for an hour and a half. That time would be divided between a period of guided meditation practice and a period for sharing about what emerges during practice. Many of the personal and sometimes difficult emotional issues and opportunities of the traditional "men's groups" I mentioned above emerge during meditation practice and benefit from expression in an environment of safety and compassion.
As a senior teacher of The 3 Doors, I have witnessed how these practices of body, speech, and mind have supported transformation and healing in those who made a commitment to establish and maintain a regular practice. If you are unfamiliar with The 3 Doors methods you can learn more at:
www.the3doors.org
At this time, nothing is carved in stone. I'm including this "invitation" in our newsletter for men, or any men that you know who might have an interest in participating in a men's meditation group, to contact me, express their interest and to ask further questions at:

| | FIFTH U.S. 3 DOORS ACADEMY - BEGINS OCTOBER 2018
|
| Marcy and Gabriel will teach the next U.S. 3 Doors Academy begining this October.
The Academy provides you with the opportunity to engage deeply in the process of self-discovery. It is rigorous in the sense that you are asked to make an active and on-going commitment to self-reflection and meditation. It is challenging at times, since facing yourself can be humbling and disorienting. And it is frequently joyful, since the freedom of going beyond perceived limitation and experiencing the abundant resources of your true nature is liberating.
A great strength of the program is that it draws upon the collective power of the group for support in transforming personal limitations. The trainee participates in six residential retreats, shares experiences in monthly small group conference video calls with a mentor, and draws upon the mentor relationship for individual guidance and direction.
The Academy environment is one of complete confidentiality, support, and the genuine warmth that emerges when people openly share their journeys with one another.
To view a video of Marcy and Gabriel speaking about The 3 Doors Academy, find additional information about the Academy, it's 2 and 1/2 year schedule, and to register, please follow this link:
