Hi Friend,

If we are connected on Facebook, you may already know I chose to take Marisa Murgatroyd's 21-Day Facebook Live Challenge.

When I want to learn something or up my game, these challenges are a great help.  In the past I've gone for blog challenges and list-building.  Truth be told, I don't usually complete those that last longer than a week or two.  I get bored, life or business distracts me.

This challenge attracted me because it aligned with my desire to connect with my tribe in a more personal way.  I had already begun to play with FB Live and thought the challenge would call me to be more consistent.  Yet, I had no idea what I would talk about.

Some of you joined me on FB for the YINpreneur Pilgrimage, which called for 10 days of FB Live gatherings.  Frankly, I LOVED connecting each evening, but was glad when the weekend came and I could take a breather.

You may ask, if you could not make it for 10 days, why do you think you can make it for 21?  Well, I don't know if I can, but here's what I've learned thus far:
  • Facebook Live offers a joyful energy infusion - during the livestreams and even during the replay, when I connect via the comments.
  • Doing the FB Live at the same time every day is a bigger challenge than simply showing up when it feels right.
  • Showing up when it feels right allows for more flexibility and spontaneity.
  • Showing up daily has called me to be more natural and conversational versus planned or scripted - mostly because I believe it will be boring if it's scripted daily.
  • Doing the challenge daily is calling me to practice stepping out of my comfort zone.
  • Being a private person, I am challenged to share my life.  Yet, it's hard to go for 21 days and talk only business.  I was inspired to find a creative way to share more about me.  I chose to be a tourist in my own city, showing folks my favorite NY places.
  • This gets me out of the house more often and, I am finding ways to talk about my business thin ways that relate to daily life.
  • I have let go of perfection, often stream without makeup or much prep - finding that natural lighting is my favorite (like with my photography)
I am now on Day 6, learning much about FB Live, myself, being creative under pressure, and being consistent.

I invite you to check out my Facebook profile page or the YINpreneur™ Wisdom Circle FB group if you wish to follow the live streams or the replays.  I also welcome suggestions for topics for my FB Live:
  • topics you'd like to hear about
  • Your favorite NY places to visit.
For now, check out the fun places I've already visited, and the YINpreneur™ life and business tips I am sharing.  Today, Day 6, was about balancing yin and yang energy.  You'll have to visit the page to see where I went.  I would love to receive your feedback.

Remember to breathe and slow down to speed up your success.

From my heart to yours,
P.S. You have permission to pop onto my Facebook page and remind me if it's late and I've yet to post a FB Live.  Please help keep me accountable.
