Get ready to spread some sunshine ☀️ and kindness. September 5th marks International Day of Charity. This special day is about little acts of kindness, little gestures that count! From desk-side compliments to company-wide initiatives, we're on a mission to make kindness our new superpower. 🦸‍♂️


In the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by the United Nations in September 2015, eradicating poverty in all its forms, including extreme poverty, is recognised as the greatest global challenge and a fundamental requirement for sustainable development.

 

The International Day of Charity was established to raise awareness and inspire action among individuals, NGOs, and stakeholders worldwide 🌏to assist others through volunteerism and philanthropy. The date, September 5th, was chosen to honor the memory of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her efforts to combat poverty and distress.

Transfer of Undertaking of Habib Bank Limited to Banque Patronus Limitée


The Bank of Mauritius has, under section 32A(6)(a) of the Banking Act 2004, granted an authorisation for Habib Bank Limited to transfer its undertaking to Banque Patronus Limitée, effective 31 August 2024. You may refer to the attached communiqué.


Regulatory relief Extension of time limit for filing of Returns due to IFRS 17


Following FSC Communiqués issued on 01 March 2024 and 25 June 2024 (“Extension of time limit for filing of Returns due to IFRS 17”), the timeline for filing of reporting obligations for Insurers and Professional Reinsurers – including those entities registered as Reporting Issuers – (together “FSC Licensees”) for the year and quarter end as per the attached communiqué, has been extended.

The Methodology for Assessing Technical Compliance with the FATF Recommendations and the Effectiveness of AML/CFT/CPF Systems


The FATF assesses each member’s implementation of the FATF Recommendations and its actions to tackle money laundering, terrorist financing and the financing of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction on an ongoing basis. The Methodology for Assessing Technical Compliance with the FATF Recommendations and the Effectiveness of AML/CFT/CPF Systems sets out the assessment process which focuses on effectiveness and technical compliance. A General Office Cleaning 🧹 on Level 2 is scheduled for tomorrow 31st August 2024, as from 8:30 a.m.

👉 Kindly remove all documents and boxes underneath and around your desk.


The cleaning team will deep vacuum, shampoo the carpet and clean the tiled floor as well as desks, PC screens, telephones, windows, blinds etc. Please note that the cleaning team will not be able to perform the cleaning effectively if your workspace is untidy.


We appreciate your usual collaboration.

Co-Pilot Training: Empowering our team with AI

Our leadership team recently completed a Microsoft 365 Copilot training session, recently conducted by FRCI. This initiative represents a significant step forward in our ongoing commitment to technological advancement and operational excellence.


The comprehensive 9-hour course, delivered by Cedric Lokhee from FRCI was attended by our Top Management, Heads of Business, and AI Committee members. This intensive training focused on leveraging Microsoft 365 Copilot to enhance business productivity, communication, and decision-making processes.


Participants gained valuable insights into:


  • Fundamental principles of Copilot functionality

  • Techniques for effective AI prompting

  • Practical applications across Microsoft 365 applications


The training aimed to equip our leadership with the knowledge to optimise workflows, automate tasks, and make data-driven decisions using this cutting-edge AI technology.
