The Scoop on Ice Cream: 🤔 Did you know that the origins of ice cream date back to ancient China, where a frozen mixture of milk and rice was enjoyed as early as 200 BC? Fast forward to the 16th century, when ice cream became a favorite dessert among European royalty. Today, ice cream is a global delight, with countless flavors and styles to suit every palate. 🍦🍦🍦
Fun Fact: The world’s largest ice cream cone 🍦was over 9 feet tall! Created in Italy, this giant cone was filled with more than 2,000 liters of ice cream. Can you picture this? We cannot! 🤭

Preliminary Gross Direct Investment Flows: First Quarter of 2024
Gross direct investment flows in Mauritius have been estimated at Rs6,431 million in 2024Q1 compared to Rs7,236 million in 2023Q1. The ‘Real estate activities’ sector was the major recipient of gross direct investment inflows. Gross direct investment in Mauritius were mainly sourced from France and South Africa. The Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Mauritius keeps the Key Rate unchanged
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Bank of Mauritius has unanimously decided to keep the Key Rate (KR) unchanged at 4.50 per cent per annum.

Level 3 Coffee Machine ☕
Did you spot the Nespresso coffee machine in the kitchen on Level 3? This is for you! - an initiative of the Staff Welfare committee.
However, you will need to bring your own coffee capsule to make your coffee. Same can be purchased at any Nespresso shop or online here.
You are also requested to ensure the proper use of the coffee machine.
General Cleaning | Level 3
A Level 3 cleaning is planned on Saturday 20th July 2024 as from 8:30 a.m.
On the menu: deep vacuum, carpet shampoo, and cleaning of tiled floor, desks, PC screens, telephone, windows, blinds, amongst others. Consequently, please:
Tidy and clear up your desk, storing your belongings (pen, diary, laptop, etc...) in your drawer;
Remove all documents and boxes on, underneath and around your desk.
Please note that the cleaning team will not be able to perform the cleaning appropriately if your working space is untidy.

There will be a Charity Bake & Sale next Friday, 26 July 2024. All teams are requested to bring a small treat and to inform Koush or Mahima what they are bringing by Wednesday 24 July. 🍩🍪🧁
All proceeds collected through the sale will be donated to a local NGO. You are also informed that you can bring non-perishable food items and warm clothing as well. 🍽🍴🧣🧤🧦

ITL organised its yearly IFRS training at Clubhouse for accountants who need to comply with CPD as ITL is an approved ACCA and ICAEW (ACA) approved employer 😎 Today's training was followed by a lunch at The Leaf.

ITL team organised a webinar along with ABC Bank and Technology of Trust (ex PWC in Russia) titled 'Mauritius for Russian Clients: Banking System Opportunities and Beyond'. The webinar covered Mauritius as a Financial Hub, Taxation aspects as well as the services that ITL can offer. The speakers from ITL side were Varounen Goinden and Dinesh Sunnoo.
The webinar had more than 120 participants present.
