TECHNICAL NEWS

1. Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2023

The measures announced in the Budget speech 2023-2024 have been enacted pursuant to the Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2023 which was gazetted on 20 July 2023. A copy of the legal supplement has been attached for your reference.

2. ESSNAC Survey 2023

Survey forms for each GBC under management should be completed and submitted through the ODCS platform by Tuesday, 1st August 2023.

3. Extension of Deadline for Employment and Financial Data Survey - June 2023

The deadline for the Employment and Financial Data Survey (June 2023) has been extended to       Wednesday 26th July 2023 following current technical issues on the ODCS server.

4. Extension for Renewal as Data Controller and Processor

The Data Protection Office has granted an extension of two months to data controllers and processors whose deadline for renewal was on 31st July 2023. The new deadline is, therefore, on 30th September 2023.


In light of the above, the internal deadline to update the Data protection Registration Log (‘Renewal’ Sheet) [N:\CASS\Data protection\Data Protection Registration\2023] has been extended to Friday, 4th August 2023
