Today’s gazette is all about celebrating the fun, expressive world of emojis as we mark World Emoji Day on July 17^th! 🤩😍😎🤭😉 Whether you're a frequent user of the classic smiley 😀, the thumbs up 👍🏻, or the ever-popular heart ❤, emojis have revolutionized the way we communicate.

Emoji Evolution

🤔❓ Did you know that the first set of emojis was created in 1999 by Japanese artist Shigetaka Kurita? 😱 Initially, they were designed for a Japanese mobile phone operator to facilitate simple communication. Fast forward to today, and there are over 3,500 emojis used globally, reflecting a wide range of emotions, objects, activities, and cultural symbols. 😎🍟🍔🎈🎉⚽🎳🎸🥁🪔

Emojis transcend language barriers, allowing people from different cultures and backgrounds to communicate easily and effectively. A smiley face or a heart 😀❤ can convey emotions and sentiments that words sometimes can’t. But it’s very important to understand the meaning of each emoji! TECHNICAL NEWS

ESSNAC Survey 2024

Kindly note that the Financial Services Commission (the “Commission”) has officially launched the External Sector Statistics and the National Accounts (ESSNAC) Survey.

Data collected from the ESSNAC survey will be used for the compilation of various macro-economic statistics namely the Balance of Payments, International Investment Position, Foreign Portfolio, Foreign Direct Investment and National Accounts. The deadline to submit the survey is Thursday 1st August 2024.07.12

Financial Services (Consolidated Licensing and Fees) Rules 2024

Please note that the Amendments to the Financial Services (Consolidated Licensing and Fees) Rules 2024 will be effective as from 1^st July 2025, instead of 2024. Kindly find enclosed the Government Notice. The amendments are as per below:

A licence for a GBC and special licence will lapse within 15 days of renewal date if no payment is made (Previously 12 months)

Application for reinstatement should be made within 3 months of being lapsed (Previously 12 months)

Football lovers - We are sure that this week has been quite exciting! Many of us had very difficult mornings 😀

Many will be quite happy that England has reached the finals. Ensure you are well-rested on Sunday, 14^th July, as you will have a long night ahead. England vs Spain is not to be missed!

BOWLING TOURNAMENT - TRIO

In the recent trio tournament held at Gravity Max on Monday, 8 July 2024, the ITLians Bowling Club showcased their prowess, securing a commendable 3^rd place as a team. The trio comprising of James, Kong, and Mayur displayed exceptional skill and teamwork throughout the competition.

Individually, Mayur distinguished himself further by achieving 3^rd place on the individual scratch table.

Congratulations to the ITLians Bowling Club for their outstanding performance! 👏🏻🎉
