Independence and Republic Day - 12th March 2025


Please note that Wednesday 12th March 2025 is a public holiday in Mauritius. Our office and Banks will be closed on that day. All banking transactions, including securities and forex, will resume processing on the next business day.


Normal business operations will resume on Thursday 13th March.

Mauritius celebrates National Day on 12th March, commemorating independence from Britain (1968) and republic status (1992). This national holiday combines "Independence Day" and "Republic Day" into one celebration. Mauritians honour their achievement of full sovereignty and establishment of their own head of state, marking a crucial moment in their history.
