MRA - Fiscal Measures Highlight

The MRA has published a fiscal measures highlight following the National Budget 2024/2025. The highlights is attached for your reference.


FILING OF RETURNS/ STATEMENTS AND PAYMENT OF TAX

Please refer to the attached communique from the MRA for the filing of returns/statements and payment of tax which are due by Wednesday 26 June 2024.


Note that for Companies whose accounting year ended is in December 2023 and where no tax is payable or a loss is declared and the company is unable to submit the return by the due date, no penalty for late submission of the return will be charged by the Director-General, provided the return is submitted on or before 15 July 2024.


Corporate and Business Registration Department

The Cash Office of the CBRD will be closed at noon on Friday 28th June 2024 due to the closing of Financial Year 2023/24.


Filing of accounts for the year ended December 2023

Please note that Companies having year end December 2023 are required to submit their accounts (audited/unaudited) by 30 June 2024.


Standard Bank Communique

They have been informed by the MRA that the due date for the payment of taxes and contributions to the Government of Mauritius via the Mauritius Network Services (MNS) platform will be the 26 June 2024. As such, they request that all instructions for foreign currency payments via the MNS platform is to be submitted to the bank by latest Monday 24 June 2024.
