Subject: Eid ul-Fitr | Public Holiday Notice on 31st March

Public Holiday Notice:

Eid ul-Fitr - 31st March 2025

Please note that Monday 31st March 2025* is a public holiday in Mauritius. Our office and Banks will be closed on that day. All banking transactions, including securities and forex, will resume processing on the next business day. Normal business operations will resume on Tuesday 1st April.

The precise date of Eid ul-Fitr depends on the visibility of the moon. Should the crescent moon remain unseen on the eve, Ramadan fasting continues for an additional day, and the festival is consequently postponed to the following day.

Eid ul-Fitr is a vibrant cultural celebration marking the end of Ramadan. The festivities begin with the sighting of the new moon. Families gather for special meals featuring traditional dishes and sweets. Many observe the tradition of wearing new clothes and exchanging gifts. The celebration in Mauritius among the Muslim community is marked by community gatherings, decorative homes, and a spirit of generosity.

Should you have any queries about how this closure affects your work, please contact your designated Point of Contact.

Kind Regards,

ITL Team
