The Governor of the Bank of Mauritius (BoM), Mr Harvesh Kumar Seegolam G.C.S.K., and the Governor of the People's Bank of China (PBC), Mr Pan Gongsheng, recently signed a Bilateral Currency Swap Agreement (BCSA) of RMB 2 billion/MUR 13 billion between the two central banks.

Finance Act 2024: Taxation Updates - Training session rescheduled.


The next training session by Andersen, titled 'Finance Act 2024: Taxation Updates,' organised in collaboration with the Financial Services Institute (FSI) Mauritius, has been rescheduled to September 10th.


Course Details:

📅 Date: Wednesday 4th September 2024.

The term 'milkshake' was first used in print in 1885, but it referred to an alcoholic whiskey drink, not the creamy treat we know today. 😅

  • The modern milkshake was invented in 1922 when Ivar 'Pop' Coulson added two scoops of ice cream to malted milk at a Walgreens in Chicago.

  • In the 1930s, milkshakes were often prescribed by doctors to help underweight patients gain weight.

  • The world's largest milkshake, according to Guinness World Records, was made in New York in 2000. It contained 6,000 gallons of vanilla ice cream and was chocolate-flavoured. 🍫

 
 
 

How to make a Chocolate Milkshake:


1. Combine ice cream, milk, and chocolate sauce in a blender.

2. Blend until combined, add more milk if needed. For a thicker shake, add more ice cream. For a thinner shake, add more milk.

3. Serve topped with whipped cream, if desired.


Recipe Variations:

• Chocolate Milkshake without Ice Cream: Instead of ice cream, add a couple frozen bananas and plenty of ice.

• Chocolate Milkshake with Cocoa Powder: Add ¼ cup warm water, 6 tablespoons of cocoa powder and 3 tablespoons of sugar to a blender and blend on low. Add ice cream and a splash of milk if needed, and blend to combine.

• Chocolate Banana Milkshake: Add a frozen banana and blend with other ingredients.

• Vegan Chocolate Milkshake: Substitute almond milk and vegan vanilla ice cream. Omit whipping cream.
