Bank of Mauritius - Appointment of Deputy Governors


In a communiqué, the Bank of Mauritius has informed the public that his Excellency Prithvirajsingh Roopun, G.C.S.K., President of the Republic of Mauritius, has, in accordance with Section 14 of the Bank of Mauritius Act 2004, and upon the recommendation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, appointed Mr Rajeev Hasnah as First Deputy Governor and Mr Gérard Sanspeur as Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Mauritius with effect from 2nd December 2024.


The Financial Services Commission’s statement on US SEC Indictment of Mr. Gautam Adani and Others


The Financial Services Commission, Mauritius (“FSC Mauritius”) has taken cognizance of the Indictment dated 20th November 2024, issued by The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (US SEC) and the US Department of Justice against Mr. Gautam Adani, founder and chairman of the Adani Group, whereby reference has been made to a company incorporated in Mauritius.


The FSC Mauritius wishes to highlight that Mauritius has a robust framework for global business companies and all global business companies licensed by the FSC Mauritius are strictly monitored. Moreover, the FSC Mauritius complies with international best practices with respect to AML/CFT framework. You may refer to the attached communiqué.


Mauritius Revenue Authority - Foreign Accounts Tax Compliance Act (FATCA)


Further to a communiqué from the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) entitled Foreign Accounts Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) 2023 published on 17th February 2023, the MRA informs stakeholders concerned that the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has released Notice 2024-78 which provides an extension for the temporary relief stated in Notice 2023-11, for an additional three calendar years-2025, 2026 and 2027, and introduces new requirements for FFIs. SEM X: Perigeum Capital & OneLink celebrating an important milestone 🎉


Two of our Business Units have played key roles in the first-ever listings on SEMX, the new segment of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius (SEM). Perigeum Capital acted as the Mauritian Transaction Advisor for three companies—Africa Eats Ltd, Elite Meat Processors Ltd, and Ziweto Holdings Limited—while OneLink is managing registrar and transfer agent duties.


What makes this extra special? These companies are the very first to be listed on SEMX, a space created for fast-growing and profitable businesses. It’s a fantastic step forward, showcasing their ambition and setting the stage for more high-growth enterprises to follow.


This milestone was celebrated this week at the Bell Ringing Ceremony at the Stock Exchange, while the rest of our colleagues, followed this event live from the New York Boardroom. Iit was a proud moment for all involved.
