First of all, we send you our best wishes for 2023. On this occasion, we warmly like to thank all of you who have been reading our newsletter for many years and also welcome all of our new readers. We hope to continuously be able to inspire you and encourage you to visit Andalusia for your next holiday. For us, this included the need for a fresh and new design 😀

We speak English, German, Spanish, and Dutch, as well as several dialects. Unfortunately, our French only works in theory - the output is more of a mixture of French, Spanish, and a fictional language. In daily conversation, however, it works quite smoothly! And after a glass of wine in the evening, not only us but also you and your fellow guests are fluent in every other language. ¡Salud!

Your holiday at Cortijo El Sarmiento in a nutshell:

7 double rooms for a maximum of 14 guests.
Wine, sherry, and olive oil tastings, together with delicious food, lead to an average increase of 2 kg in weight.
There are six people to take care of you:
Yvonne and Carsten look after your well-being,
Sofia and Mamina make sure everything is pretty,
Marlene and Reiner (Yvonne's parents) are still pulling some strings in the background.
The heated pool reaches 26-30°, our cozy sauna 70-95°, and the outdoor temperature is 20-35° at daytime ...
Well, now it's wintry and the 35° are hard to reach ... but in the sun it's still quite warm during the day 🤭
One excellent massage therapist provides more relaxation on request.

No mass tourism

When we were house-hunting, one of our absolute must-have criteria was that the region had remained unaffected by mass tourism. Sure, one can certainly make more money in tourist hotspots like Malaga or Benidorm. It is impossible to explain the impact of mass tourism in two sentences at this point, but we deliberately opted for the concept of "slow travel" and instead of going faster, higher, and further, we chose to shift down a gear!

So, is a couples getaway the only option?

Whether it's the heiress's milestone birthday, a company incentive event for the dedicated employees, a bike tour with your best buddies, or a yoga wellness retreat for just the girls. So many times we have been asked if it is possible to rent the entire Cortijo for family, friends, or colleagues, almost like a corporate group trip 🙂.

Of course, this is possible ... at least for up to 14 people! The best part: you can tailor your perfect individual arrangement. Just send us a short email and we will discuss the details in a zoom.

Relaxed start

Once you've arrived, you might just want to spend the evening dining by the pool, rather than dressing up and going out. No problem! How 'bout a "Shared Platter"? A plate full of delicious cheeses and local cured meats, some baguette, olive oil, and a potato salad with homemade aioli. That way you can enjoy a romantic candlelight soirée by the pool with some lovely background music. Hint: once finished, get on the sun lounger and gaze at the twinkling stars!
