Hi Friend,
We didn't know it at the time, but October 10th, 2020 was in many ways the start of our New Year. On that day, we met with 100 people from Matsakha, Kenya. It was Day 1 of our Community Engagement. Over the next three days we made friends with everyone from village elders to farmers, accountants, dressmakers, and teachers. We learned, shared and worked together as they envisioned a new future for their community.
Last week, almost exactly a year later, we met with 87 people from Munamooba, Zambia to learn more about their village and build friendship. Between meeting these two wonderful communities, people in Matsakha made and sold 4,000 liters of soap, pressed 15,000 interlocking stabilized soil bricks, and just finished building rainwater catchment tanks #1 and #2 (out of 50 in their Water Security program) at Matsakha Primary School. |
