Friendly Water for the World November newsletter
friendly water for the world header

Welcome to the November issue of our monthly newsletter.

All of us at Friendly Water for the World hope this email finds you well. We know these can be difficult times and more so for some than others. But for those of us who can do more to help others, it's an important opportunity to make a substantial difference in the lives of vulnerable people and communities around the world. This month we share stories about:

  • 2020 10-year anniversary Fall fundraiser

  • Chat about community engagement

  • Community engagement in Matsakha

  • Monthly board meeting

  • Creating a legacy

You'll notice one format change in the newsletter this month - our project stories are being hosted on our website under the brand new News page. That means this email will include an introduction to the story, and if you are interested and want to read the whole story, just click the Read More link and you'll be taken to our website. In the future, if you ever miss a newsletter or just want to catch up on something from the past or present, all you need to do is visit https://friendlywater.org/news.

We hope you enjoy the updates. If you have any suggestions on how to improve our monthly newsletter or have ideas for stories to include, please contact will@friendlywater.org.

MATSAKHA

New partners. New friends.

Matsakha community engagement

On October 8th, 2020, Friendly Water for the World Africa Programs Manager Eric Lijodi left his home in Kakamega County, Kenya for Matsakha sub location. It was going to be an exciting day - the first day we would formally meet the people of Matsakha, and the first opportunity during this challenging year of Covid-19 that we would begin our new Community Engagement process. We are encouraged by just how rewarding it would turn out to be.

How can you make a lasting impact?

Every other month we will be including a story in this newsletter about how you can make your donations go further and make a lasting impact by giving in different ways. This month we want to remind you about the different ways you can support this work through planned gift options that leave a legacy. These gift options include:

  • Employer matching

  • Donor-advised fund

  • IRA Qualified Charitable distribution

  • Stock contribution

  • Estate gift

If you have any questions about how these gift options work, please contact us at curt@friendlywater.org.

And please keep in mind that Friendly Water for the World is part of matching gift programs at Microsoft, Kaiser Permanente, Google, Boeing, and others. If you have an employer that has a matching gift program, please help us become part of their system.

Until our next Chat, our next newsletter, or whenever we are fortunate enough to see each other again. Please be safe and kind to others.

-Will, on behalf of our community of staff, volunteers, and supporters
