Hi Friend,
27,000 bricks. That’s roughly how many bricks our hard-working partners and friends have pressed this year. What an accomplishment! Not just any bricks mind you - Interlocking Stabilized Soil Bricks that don't have to be fired in a kiln, reduce deforestation and pollution, create an income for the local community, and can be used to build everything from chicken coops to schools.
It's fitting progress to share at the start of our first annual Build Week. This week we are celebrating all the work you made possible this year. Work like building a 25,000-liter rainwater catchment tank for the 360 boys and girls at Pag Magale Secondary school. They even pitched in, as seen above, to help unload the curved bricks that form the walls of our newly designed and government-approved tanks.
On the eve of #GivingTuesday, we look back with gratitude and admiration for all those in our community that played any part, large or small, in making 27,000 bricks. Not to mention achieving it in the middle of a global pandemic. It's only the start of building better. With your investment, next year people in communities like Matsakha, Kambiri, and Munamoomba will press even more bricks to transform their villages and build a better life. |
