Let's Chat about our biggest soap program yet.

Hello Friend,

Soap is something we usually take for granted. Until we don’t have it. And during our Community Engagement with the people of Matsakha, Kenya, we discovered that school students and community members didn't always have access to soap - in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. What soap is available, is often of poor quality and from unknown sources. During our monthly Zoom Chat this Friday, January 29th at noon find out how we're getting soap to students by partnering with Transforming Communities for Social Change (TCSC) and the Matsakha Development Group (MDG) to create and activate a Multipurpose Soap Community Investment Plan.

As a special treat in this Chat, we will be joined by guest speakers Getry Agizah, Executive Director of TCSC, and Ezra Wangai, a chemical engineer with MDG. They will talk about their own organizations, how we are all working together, the opportunities to invest in Multipurpose Soap, and what we all hope to accomplish.

Watch our last Chat.

Did you ever wonder how relationships that span 9,000 miles get started? At our last Chat, Eric Lijodi, our Africa Programs Manager, shared his journey exploring a new partnership with the people of Matsakha and Kenyan peacemaking group Transforming Community for Social Change (TCSC), in the first community engagement out of our Kakamega Water Technology Center. This work laid the foundation for the Multipurpose Soap Program we will be discussing this week.
