Subject: We Thought Abortion Was the Best Option ... Now, I feel So Much Sadness

"I knew it was wrong. But we still thought it was the best option. But after having the abortion today, I feel so much sadness in my heart.
Will God still love me? Will God fix us? Please, I need to hear the right thing, right now, for I feel so lost ..." —Rhea

Dear Friend,

The day her abortion was scheduled, Rhea emailed us.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to prevent Rhea’s abortion. But we are still here for her. She is crushed by it. And that is exactly why she still needs us.

God’s mercy is unlimited. Rhea needs to hear this Good News.

But it must be conveyed correctly. Our response is never just: “You’re forgiven. Everything will be fine. Forget it and move on.”

No. That would be a huge mistake.

Our mission is to offer hope, but also to help guide people toward spiritual healing.

Going through an abortion is surely a horrible way to discover one’s need for Christ and renewal. But today, literally millions of people have been through post-abortion healing programs. God has used their pain to transform them into more loving and faith-filled people. Many are now tireless champions for life.

Did you know the Elliot Institute hosts the world’s most frequently visited websites on post-abortion issues? With millions of visitors each year, we play a central role in spreading the Good News of God’s Mercy and starting tens of thousands on the path to healing.

Your suppo
rt of this outreach is just one of many ways your donations are saving and transforming lives.

Now, with your help, we need to raise $24,000 by July 1st.

This is just to cover our basic expenses. Our annual budget is just $95,000 per year. That covers modest salaries for two employees, our office, printing, postage, web sites and everything else.

Due to the generosity of just 127 donors, we’ve raised $71,000 of our annual budget. But that’s already been spent.

Please help us get across the finish line.

If you are one of the 127 who has already given, can you please give again?

If you haven’t given yet this year, could you be our 128th ... or our 161st donor?

Our Biggest Threat

I’ve mentioned this before. The biggest threat to our ministry is donor fatigue.

Of the thousands of people who have donated over the last 28 years, most have wandered off to support other charities.

It’s easy to understand. There are so many worthwhile causes. And most of them have full time fundraisers, professional and polished appeals, and simply bigger staffs and more projects to excite donors.

We don’t have any glitz. And certainly no glamour. But we are doing a job that desperately needs to be continued.

It only takes you and a couple hundred others like you to keep our one post-abortion ministry going.

If you are moved by God’s grace to support our work, please be as generous as you can.

And will you prayerfully consider becoming one of our Sustaining Partners by making a monthly or quarterly pledge?

You are our best hope to reach our goal. Your support helps us be there for women like Rhea, and women like Kara, whose baby we helped save.

Please make the most generous donation you can today.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support. You are in our prayers of thanks ... always.

Sincerely yours for Life in Christ,
David C. Reardon, Ph.D.
