Keeping the Doors Open In Your Church

This Sunday marks the end of the Elliot Institute's Third Annual Coerced Abortion Awareness Week, and we are so pleased that so many people participated!

Marlene from California shared an exciting development that happened in her church this year. She and others invited their new pastor to visit the  local pregnancy center where they helped to minister. The priest was able to tour the center, meet the staff and hear the story of a woman who'd been there. Afterward, the group walked up the street to pray outside a nearby abortion clinic at a 40 Days for Life Vigil.

The result? Marlene's pastor decided that more people needed to learn about these issues. This weekend, a woman from the pregnancy center will be sharing her abortion story at all the parish Masses!

Marlene believes that personal invitations and opportunities for pastors to understand these issues are the key to getting them involved. "We can't expect others to know what we know without educating them and showing them what we know," she said.

Sharing information like The Jericho Plan and other Church Awareness Project resources, and personally inviting pastors, church leaders and others to learn about these issues "on the front lines" will open doors in your churches and faith communities.

Remember, you can do this outreach anytime of year.

Keep this outreach going year-round! This is also a good time to start planning for next year's Coerced Abortion Awareness Week and to incorporate a church outreach into your existing pro-life plans.
