Subject: There's Still Time to Help Us Create Good News in the Fight Against Abortion
Dear Friend,
In a recent email we told you that so far only about 14 people had responded to our email fundraising campaign. This week, another seven donors helped us raise an additional $970.00.
Fundraising experts always say that good news doesn't bring in funds the way bad news does. They say good news makes donors complacent, while bad news motivates them to give in order to remedy the situation. But I don't want to tell you only bad news. We've had great news to share, too ... ... such as letting you know about new studies that are adding to the evidence that abortion harms, rather than helps, women -- and letting people know that most abortions are unwanted, unsafe and unfair. Thanks to you, the idea that abortion is a "choice" that helps women is losing its power.
If you are one of those who made a donation to support this work, thank you very much! Please pray that others will add to the contributions you have have made.
Unfortunately, it isn't all good news. The bad news is that the abortion industry and its allies continue their efforts to hide the problems of abortion. For example, the mainstream media virtually ignored the major review recently published by Britain's Royal College of Psychologists. And abortion advocates have launched new attacks on the credibility of every study casting a shadow on abortion, especially any that we have been involved in. We need your help in order to fend off these attacks and move this research forward. Unfortunately, we've raised only about $2,000.00 through email contributions so far. And while those who have given have been very generous, we simply can't succeed without the support of new donors. We really need your help to get this campaign off the ground.
Your gift will go to support projects like the two new research papers we are preparing for publication, and our petition to Congress to hold hearings on abortion and mental health issues. These important projects are only some of the ways we are working to expose the abuse, exploitation and trauma that is linked to abortion.
If you haven't had a chance to give yet, please do so now. Your gift will help us create more good news in the battle to stop abortion's assault on unborn children, women and families.
Can you afford to make a single donation of $100, $200, $500, $1000, or even $5,000?
Or can you become one of our Sustaining Partners, donating $10, $20, or $50 per month, per quarter or twice a year? It's up to you to decide how much you want to give, and how often. Whatever you can give, please do it now, before you forget. Get out your checkbook or visit here to send us a donation today. Become part of our team, today. Together, we can make a difference.
Please be as generous as you can. And if you can't donate, please pray that others can and will.
Sincerely yours for Life, David C. Reardon, Ph.D. Director
